Swim for Melissa: A grand event for our tiniest patients!

Miracle Bash Chairs with Amy George The 4th annual Swim for Melissa was a wonderful success! On August 14, more than 500 guests attended the Miracle Bash held at the Davidson Center, and enjoyed a buffet dinner, silent auction and live music by Huntsville Hospital trauma surgeon Dr. Rony Najjar and his band, Junctional Rhythm.

The next day, 190 children put on their bathing suits to swim for Melissa at Hampton Cove Pool. A BIG congratulations to the top fundraising team, the TOC Tsunamis, who raised $13,765; the top swimmer, Smith Wolford, who raised $4,478; and the top paddler, Tori Hall, who raised $5,346!

Overall, the event raised more than $140,000 for the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation. The proceeds will be used to purchase state-of-the-art Giraffe Warmers and Giraffe Incubators for the Neonatal ICU at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children.
