Alabama’s fully Automated Hospital Lab
The Laboratory employs a dedicated staff of certified Medical Technologists and Medical Laboratory Technicians along with a supportive team of caring and highly trained employees. A staff of courteous and capable Customer Service Representatives is available to answer questions from our clients and patients. A team of pathologists is also available for consultations, questions, or any concerns that your physician may have. The Laboratory staff is responsible for performing over 3 million billable procedures annually and processing over 6,000 specimens per day. Sophisticated equipment and state-of-the-art technology are utilized to ensure quality and timely patient testing.

Huntsville Hospital Laboratory is a community-based laboratory committed to the mission of improving the health of our patients. The Laboratory offers a comprehensive test menu and rapid turnaround times. The Laboratory’s testing sites and Patient Service Centers are subject to the standards required by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) and maintain current CLIA licenses and the required State of Alabama licenses. The Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). Accreditation by CAP is awarded for a period of two years. The Laboratory has completed four accreditation cycles with no deficiencies.
Approximately 60 to 80 percent of the decisions made by physicians are based on the results of laboratory tests. Over 500 physician clients utilize our Laboratory services. The Laboratory is dedicated to ensuring excellence in customer service for our patients and clients. This includes providing courteous and well-trained phlebotomy technicians at the various Patient Service Centers to perform accurate ordering, testing, and billing.
