Prepared Childbirth
Learn about all aspects of having a baby so you can better make decisions regarding your birth experience. In this course you will learn about:
- Stages of labor and birth
- Procedures used during labor and delivery
- Different types of medication and anesthesia
- Breathing and relaxation techniques
- Cesarean birth
- Post partum care
- Normal newborn characteristics
Classes also tour the maternity facilities at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children (Madison classes and weekend classes included). You will visit the:
- Labor and delivery area
- Well baby nurseries
- Post partum units (mother/baby units)
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Cost: $75
SPECIAL: Sign up for a childbirth series, parenting class or marvelous multiples class between September 1, 2010 and January 1, 2011 and receive FREE registration to breastfeeding class (a $35 value)!
Class Schedule 2009 - 2010
- Five-week course: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
- Two-week course: Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m./One-hour break for lunch
- Weekend course: Saturday, 12:30 - 6 p.m. and Sunday, 1 - 6 p.m. OR
Saturday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Sunday, 1 - 6 p.m.
